James C. Mundt, Ph.D. is a research scientist and the Vice President of Research and Development at HTS. Dr. Mundt received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in experimental psychology in 1991, with an emphasis on human factors/engineering psychology. Basic research interests include perception, attention, cognition, performance measurement, and scale development. He has been active in the development of IVR data collection methods since 1994. Applied research interests include the development and expansion of sociotechnical systems for health care delivery and evaluation. He has contributed to the development and validation of a diverse range of IVR-based assessment instruments, including the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale, Montgomery Asberg Depression Rating Scale, Quick Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology, Short Musculoskeletal Functional Assessment, Work and Social Adjustment Scale, and multiple standard alcohol use assessment instruments. He has used IVR technology to provide public education regarding Alzheimer’s Disease and to assess the effectiveness of patient educational interventions for treating depression. Dr. Mundt is at the forefront of developing IVR-based measures of neuropsychological functioning.
